Preemptive Disappearance
2 channel video, color, sound, 12'00", 2003
-----------------------------------------------------
This piece threads facts and emotions I went through on September 21 2002, when I realized that my husband had disappeared. After six hours of uncertainty I found out he had been arrested, in-communicated and interrogated extensively. The images in the video attempt to portray the missing person through his absence in the domestic space; through that space the viewer perceives him, knows him, his presence lingers. I am a powerless narrator going over the story as if being interrogated myself.
